About

Pat and I have been on this journey since July 17, 2009.  She was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer that had already metastasized to her brain in the form of a “pea-sized” tumor.  Thirty days later, by the time she was in surgery to have it removed, it had grown to the size of a ping-pong ball.  It was successfully removed and we have been battling this disease and succeeding against the odds through our faith in Jesus Christ and the strength he provides us.  I started writing this blog on Yahoo about a year ago, BUT SINCE YAHOO NO LONGER SUPPORTS BLOGGER SITES, I have moved here.  (My former posts are temporarily still at

    • Thank you,
When you have enough time read through the blog, it tells the story of this journey. Take the time to read “What Cancer Has Taken” it is the last post from a little more than a week ago. Check your email, Be blessed!

  3. Floyd, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I just opened FYI and started to read your blog. I did not know you and Pat well, but I did recognize that you had a great love for each other. I can relate to the experience of sharing those final days with her. (Although, she will forever be present with you.) I lost my firstborn, my beautiful daughter, two years ago. My faith and my busy schedule, working with my Church have been a blessing. God bless you and keep you.
